Mothers Against Drunk Driving

maddMADD has an ardent supporter in Jim Adler. Thirty years of representing victims who have been injured or killed in drunk driving crashes have left him with a special concern for those who suffer at the hands of irresponsible out-of-control drivers who have no business behind the wheel.

“There’s no way I can erase the pain,” Adler says. “But I can help MADD publicize its causes: Eradicating drunk driving and helping victims. We need to get rid of this scourge.”

Adler agrees with MADD’s warning: If you think you are okay to drive after a drink or two, it’s a sure sign you’re not!

“The first thing alcohol affects is the brain. You may be able to walk around okay after a few drinks but it doesn’t mean your judgment is intact,” Adler says. He is also a fan of MADD’s services for victims. The firm is producing a video about the extensive support available for victims for MADD’s San Antonio chapter.

MADD is there for victims of drunk drivers from the day they get hurt or lose a loved one, through the trial of the drunk driver who caused the crash, and beyond. MADD’s free services provide help with food, rent, funeral expenses, emotional support, counseling, writing victim impact letters for the courts and a host of other issues that arise after a drunk driving crash.
